Luckily, both Kate and her daughter give our app two thumbs up, and Kate says her 3-year old, "now pesters me to see the letters every time we get in the car."

Our first review from the UK comes to us by way of Red Ted Art's Blog. Maggy Woodley is mum to two children she calls Red Ted and Pipsqueak on her blog. Maggy rates apps by giving her iPhone to Red Ted (3 yrs). If he likes an app and plays with it continually that app will get a thumbs up.

Maggy admits that she was dubious about the AlphaBooks app at first, not feeling particularly drawn to the overall design and was surprised that "he loves it!...and plays it alot!" We are excited (and relieved) to receive a thumbs up from Red Ted, as he is the audience that we are most hoping to please!

Our latest review comes from parents of a 4-year old boy who run the beautifully designed site Apps4Kids.com. The site reviews apps created for Apple platforms and has currently reviewed over 215 apps, now including the Letter Buddies AlphaBooks!

Apps4Kids summed up our app in one simple statement that we certainly appreciate: "Sure there might be other apps with more elaborated interfaces, but few are built from such experience and with such depth."

Thanks Apps4Kids for taking the time to review our app. We hope your son continues to enjoy working with it!

We received a review yesterday from the popular blog TheiPhoneMom.com. The reviewer felt that the Letter Buddies are really the stars of the app, which of course, we are happy to hear!

There is one point in the review, however, that we would like to clarify. In the review the iPhone Mom states, "...it’s worth noting that the books don’t deal with the sounds the letters make, only the fact that this is the letter and here it is at the beginning of this word." While it is true that we don't explicitly point out what the sound of the individual letter is before each book (something that we should think about doing in the next version of this app), we felt it important to note that each AlphaBook features six carefully chosen vocabulary words that begin with the same initial sound. The books were developed with the intention that children will become familiar with the sounds that each letter makes through the acquisition of new vocabulary beginning with the same letter and in particular, the same initial sound. (To learn more about the educational principles behind the AlphaBooks, please see information about the two series this app is based on — Letter Buddies Letter Books and Starters — currently being sold to schools throughout the US and Canada.)

Thanks to The iPhone Mom for your time in reviewing the app and for your support of the Letter Buddies AlphaBooks!

Alison the mother of two young boys, Hunter and Landon, runs the popular blog Being Alison that reviews products appropriate for moms and tells about her personal experiences as a mother.

While younger than the target market, Alison's son Landon, aged 19 months really enjoyed using the app. As for her 3.5 yr old son Hunter, "...after the page was read to him, he was repeating exactly what was said to him. Also this is an app where he just didn't use it once. He used it again the next day on his own, and a few more times after that."

Alison's husband, who is a teacher, also gave the app two thumbs up! Thank you for reviewing our app Alison and hope that Hunter and Landon continue to enjoy working with it!
